DOCUMENTATION: Even though it is difficult for some students, daily documentation is vital. Documentation can be a chore; however, it serves as a review for the days activities and ensures accountability. Keeping careful records is important to show concepts covered, projects and activities, and to satisfy authorities if needed. For instance, field trips are great; however, a field trip should be related to one, or more, of the subjects the student is studying. For instance, a trip to a pineapple farm or processing plant could be documented for state history (if you live in Hawaii), and health. Information can be obtained about an important state industry; nutritional information can be gleaned for health.

CREDIT: Classes offered in our curriculum, for which the student is officially registered and follows a syllabus, earn full credit. In addition, we grant credit for academic subjects not listed on our booklist. Please contact us for permission to take the class, information on where to purchase textbooks, class requirements, and reporting instructions.

TUTORS: We suggest the student use a mentor or tutor for any classes that the parent doesn't feel qualified to teach, e.g., Spanish or advanced math. Sometimes a student enrolls in a community college course. The best way to learn a foreign language is from someone who can speak the tongue, ideally a native. Students enrolled in college courses may receive double credit: from us and from the institution.

DIPLOMA: Students have used our diploma for college entrance and entrance into the military. Graduates have been accepted at colleges and universities in New Hampshire, New York, Florida, Oklahoma, California, Oregon, Washington, Indiana, Texas, and more.

TUITION: Tuition is $455. for the first high school student in the family. Tuition for second high school student is $399. A five percent discount is given on additional students in the elementary grades. Books and materials are additional, and range in cost from $150. to $250. per student annually depending on individual subjects. Tuition is based on 6-7 credits maximum per year. An additional $50 per credit is charged if a student takes more than 7 credits in one year.

TRANSCRIPTS: Parents should be aware that unless their children can furnish a bonafide transcript if they wish to return to high school, they could be forced to repeat a grade. We are able to furnish official transcripts, complete with letter grades and cumulative grade point, on request. We provide this service for our families who, for one reason or another, opt to send their children back to a regular classroom.

POSTAGE AND SIZE OF REPORTS: To keep postage costs down, we ask students to keep evaluations under two pounds. Students may use photos to document larger projects. We request students to include return postage for packages over two pounds. The most efficient way to mail reports is by the Flat Rate Priority Mail Envelope available at your local post office. You don't have to weigh the envelope, it is sent Priority Mail and costs only $3.85.

STUDENT COMMUNICATION: After registration, our major communication is with the student himself. He may contact us on our 800 number or by e-mail with questions concerning reports, evaluations, subject matter, or career/college counseling. Our purpose is to become acquainted with our enrollees; we often complete college, job, or scholarship applications in which we are asked to evaluate motivation, self-discipline, intellectual curiosity, warmth of personality, and other traits. This is especially difficult if we communicate only with parents. We encourage our secondary students to gradually assume their own responsibilities.

EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY: Good education is not only book work, but also research and, most importantly, practical skills used in everyday living.
